BNV : বিন্হদদ ছিলেন অরামের রাজা| তিনি তাঁর সেনাবাহিনী এক জায়গায় জড়ো করলেন| সেখানে তাঁর সঙ্গে আরো 32 জন রাজা য়োগদান করলেন| তাঁদের সঙ্গে ঘোড়া ও রথ ছিল| তারপর তারা সকলে মিলে শমরিয় আক্রমণ করে শমরিয় শহরের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করেছিলেন|
KJV : And Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and [there were] thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.
YLT : And Ben-Hadad king of Aram hath gathered all his force, and thirty and two kings [are] with him, and horse and chariot, and he goeth up and layeth siege against Samaria, and fighteth with it,
RV : And Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.

ESV : Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together. Thirty-two kings were with him, and horses and chariots. And he went up and closed in on Samaria and fought against it.
ERVEN : King Ben-Hadad of Aram gathered his army together. There were 32 kings with him and many horses and chariots. They surrounded Samaria and attacked it.

BNV : রাজা বিন্হদদ ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাবের কাছে শহরে বার্তাবাহক পাঠালেন|
KJV : And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said unto him, Thus saith Ben-hadad,
YLT : and sendeth messengers unto Ahab king of Israel, to the city,

ERVEN : The king sent messengers to King Ahab of Israel who was inside the city.

BNV : তিনি বললেন, “তুমি আমাকে তোমার সোনা, রূপো, স্ত্রী, পুত্রকন্যা সবকিছু সমর্পণ করো|”
KJV : Thy silver and thy gold [is] mine; thy wives also and thy children, [even] the goodliest, [are] mine.
YLT : and saith to him, `Thus said Ben-Hadad, `Thy silver and thy gold are mine, and thy wives and thy sons -- the best -- are mine.`
RV : Thy silver and thy gold is mine; thy wives also and thy children, even the goodliest, are mine.
RSV : `Your silver and your gold are mine; your fairest wives and children also are mine.'"

ERVEN : This was the message: "Ben-Hadad says, 'Your silver and your gold are mine, and so are of your wives and children.'"

BNV : ইস্রায়েলের রাজা উত্তর দিলেন, “মহারাজ আমি আপনার আনুগত্য স্বীকার করলাম| আমার যা কিছু আছে এখন সবই আপনার হল|
KJV : And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I [am] thine, and all that I have.
YLT : And the king of Israel answereth and saith, `According to thy word, my lord, O king: I [am] thine, and all that I have.`
RV : And the king of Israel answered and said, It is according to thy saying, my lord, O king; I am thine, and all that I have.
RSV : And the king of Israel answered, "As you say, my lord, O king, I am yours, and all that I have."
ASV : And the king of Israel answered and said, It is according to thy saying, my lord, O king; I am thine, and all that I have.
ESV : And the king of Israel answered, "As you say, my lord, O king, I am yours, and all that I have."
ERVEN : The king of Israel answered, "Yes, my lord and king, I am yours now, and everything I have belongs to you."

BNV : বার্তাবাহকরা ফিরে এসে আহাবকে জানালো বিন্হদদ বলেছেন, “আমি তোমাকে আগেই তোমার সোনা, রূপো, স্ত্রী পুত্রকন্যা সবাই আমায় দিয়ে দিতে বলেছিলাম|
KJV : And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-hadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
YLT : And the messengers turn back and say, `Thus spake Ben-Hadad, saying, Surely I sent unto thee, saying, Thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy sons, to me thou dost give;
RV : And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-hadad, saying, I sent indeed unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
RSV : The messengers came again, and said, "Thus says Benhadad: `I sent to you, saying, "Deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children";
ASV : And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-hadad, saying, I sent indeed unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
ESV : The messengers came again and said, "Thus says Ben-hadad: 'I sent to you, saying, "Deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children."
ERVEN : Then the messengers came back to Ahab. They said, "Ben-Hadad says, 'I told you before that all of your silver and gold and your wives and children belong to me. So give them to me!

BNV : আগামীকাল আমার লোকরা গিয়ে তোমার ও তোমার কর্মচারীদের বাড়ি তল্লাশি করবে| তারা আমার কাছে নিয়ে আসার জন্য যাবতীয় মূল্যবান সম্পদ নিয়ে নেবে|”‘
KJV : Yet I will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, [that] whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put [it] in their hand, and take [it] away.
YLT : for if, at this time to-morrow, I send my servants unto thee then they have searched thy house, and the houses of thy servants, and it hath been, every desirable thing of thine eyes they place in their hand, and have taken away.`
RV : but I will send my servants unto thee tomorrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.
RSV : nevertheless I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants, and lay hands on whatever pleases them, and take it away.'"
ASV : but I will send my servants unto thee to-morrow about this time, and they shall search thy house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.
ESV : Nevertheless I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants and lay hands on whatever pleases you and take it away.'"
ERVEN : Tomorrow I will send my men to search through your house and through the houses of your officials. Give my men all of your valuables, and they will bring them back to me.'"

BNV : আহাব তখন দেশের সমস্ত প্রবীণদের এক বৈঠক ডাকলেন| আহাব বললেন, “দেখুন, বিন্হদদ একটা গোলমাল করবার চেষ্টায আছে| প্রথমে ও আমার কাছে আমার স্ত্রী, পুত্রকন্যা, সোনা রূপো সবকিছু চেয়েছিল| আমি সে সবই ওকে দিতে রাজী হয়েছিলাম| কিন্তু এখন ও সব কিছুই নিয়ে য়েতে চাইছে|”
KJV : Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this [man] seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.
YLT : And the king of Israel calleth to all the elders of the land, and saith, `Know, I pray you, and see that evil this [one] is seeking, for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my sons, and for my silver, and for my gold, and I withheld not from him.`
RV : Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

ERVEN : So King Ahab called a meeting of all the elders of his country and said, "Look, Ben-Hadad is looking for trouble. First he told me that I must give him my wives and children and my silver and gold. I agreed to give them to him."

BNV : সমস্ত প্রবীণরা বললেন, “ওর কথা শোনার দরকার নেই| ও যা বলছে তা আপনি কোনো মতেই করবেন না|”
KJV : And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not [unto him,] nor consent.
YLT : And all the elders and all the people say unto him, `Do not hearken, nor consent.`
RV : And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken thou not, neither consent.
RSV : And all the elders and all the people said to him, "Do not heed or consent."
ASV : And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken thou not, neither consent.
ESV : And all the elders and all the people said to him, "Do not listen or consent."
ERVEN : But the elders and all the people said, "Don't obey him or do what he says."

BNV : আহাব তখন বিন্হদদকে খবর পাঠালেন, “প্রথমে আপনি যা বলেছিলেন আমি তাতে সম্মত আছি, কিন্তু আপনার দ্বিতীয় নির্দেশ মানা আমার পক্ষে সম্ভব নয়|”বিন্হদদের দূতরা এ খবর রাজার কাছে নিয়ে গেল|
KJV : Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.
YLT : And he saith to the messengers of Ben-Hadad, `Say to my lord the king, All that thou didst send for unto thy servant at the first I do, and this thing I am not able to do;` and the messengers go and take him back word.
RV : Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.

ESV : So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you first demanded of your servant I will do, but this thing I cannot do.'"And the messengers departed and brought him word again.
ERVEN : So Ahab sent a message to Ben-Hadad that said, "I will do what you said at first, but I cannot obey your second command." King Ben-Hadad's men carried the message to the king.

BNV : তারপর তারা বিন্হদদের কাছ থেকে এসে জানালো, “আমি শমরিয় শহরকে ধ্বংস করে ধূলোয় মিশিয়ে দেব| আমি প্রতিজ্ঞা করছি য়ে এই শহর থেকে আমার লোকদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে যাওয়ার মতো এক টুকরো স্মারক আমি অবশিষ্ট রাখবো না| যদি এ কাজ করতে না পারি আমার ঈশ্বর য়েন আমাকেই ধ্বংস করেন|”
KJV : And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.
YLT : And Ben-Hadad sendeth unto him, and saith, `Thus do the gods to me, and thus do they add, if the dust of Samaria suffice for handfuls for all the people who [are] at my feet.`
RV : And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.
RSV : Benhadad sent to him and said, "The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me."
ASV : And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.
ESV : Ben-hadad sent to him and said, "The gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me."
ERVEN : Then they came back with another message from Ben-Hadad that said, "I will completely destroy Samaria. I promise that there will be nothing left of that city! There will not be enough of that city left for my men to find any souvenirs to take home. May the gods destroy me if I don't do this!"

BNV : রাজা আহাব জবাব দিলেন, “যাও বিন্হদদকে গিয়ে বলো, যুদ্ধে যাওয়ার আগে বর্ম য়ে পরে তার যুদ্ধ করে এসে য়ে বর্ম খোলে তার মতো গলাবাজি সাজে না|”
KJV : And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell [him,] Let not him that girdeth on [his harness] boast himself as he that putteth it off.
YLT : And the king of Israel answereth and saith, `Speak ye: let not him who is girding on boast himself as him who is loosing [his armour].`
RV : And the king of Israel answered and said, tell him, Let not him that girdeth on {cf15i his armour} boast himself as he that putteth it off.
RSV : And the king of Israel answered, "Tell him, `Let not him that girds on his armor boast himself as he that puts it off.'"
ASV : And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his armor boast himself as he that putteth it off.
ESV : And the king of Israel answered, "Tell him, 'Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself like he who takes it off.'"
ERVEN : King Ahab answered, "Tell Ben-Hadad that the man who puts on his armor should not boast as much as the man who lives long enough to take it off."

BNV : বিন্হদদ তখন তাঁবুতে বসে অন্যান্য রাজাদের সঙ্গে দ্রাক্ষারস পান করছিলেন| সে সময় বার্তাবাহকরা রাজা আহাবের কাছ থেকে ফিরে এসে তাঁকে এই খবর দিতে তিনি তাঁর সেনাবাহিনীকে শহর আক্রমণের জন্য প্রস্তুত হতে বললেন| তখন তাঁর লোকরা যুদ্ধ করবার জন্য য়ে যার নিজের জায়গায় সরে গেল|
KJV : And it came to pass, when [Ben-hadad] heard this message, as he [was] drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions,that he said unto his servants, Set [yourselves in array.] And they set [themselves in array] against the city.
YLT : And it cometh to pass at the hearing of this word -- and he is drinking, he and the kings, in the booths -- that he saith unto his servants, `Set yourselves;` and they set themselves against the city.
RV : And it came to pass, when {cf15i Ben-hadad} heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings, in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set {cf15i yourselves in array}. And they set {cf15i themselves in array} against the city.
RSV : When Benhadad heard this message as he was drinking with the kings in the booths, he said to his men, "Take your positions." And they took their positions against the city.
ASV : And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings, in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.
ESV : When Ben-hadad heard this message as he was drinking with the kings in the booths, he said to his men, "Take your positions." And they took their positions against the city.
ERVEN : King Ben-Hadad was drinking in his tent with the other rulers when the messengers came back and gave him the message from King Ahab. King Ben-Hadad commanded his men to prepare to attack the city, so the men moved into their places for the battle.

BNV : সে সময় এক ভাববাদী রাজা আহাবকে গিয়ে বলল, “প্রভু বলেছেন, ‘তুমি কি ঐ সুবিশাল সেনাবাহিনী দেখতে পাচ্ছো? আমি বয়ং আজ তোমায় ঐ বাহিনীকে যুদ্ধে হারাতে সাহায্য করবো| তাহলেই তুমি বুঝবে আমিই প্রভু|”
KJV : And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I [am] the LORD.
YLT : And lo, a certain prophet hath come nigh unto Ahab king of Israel, and saith, `Thus said Jehovah, `Hast thou seen all this great multitude? lo, I am giving it into thy hand to-day, and thou hast known that I [am] Jehovah.`
RV : And, behold, a prophet came near unto Ahab king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold; I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
RSV : And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel and said, "Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will give it into your hand this day; and you shall know that I am the LORD."
ASV : And, behold, a prophet came near unto Ahab king of Israel, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thy hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.
ESV : And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel and said, "Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will give it into your hand this day, and you shall know that I am the LORD."
ERVEN : Then a prophet went to King Ahab and said, "King Ahab, the Lord says to you, 'Do you see that great army? I, the Lord, will defeat that army for you today. Then you will know that I am the Lord.'"

BNV : আহাব জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “ওদের যুদ্ধে হারানোর জন্য আপনি কাকে ব্যবহার করবেন?”সেই ভাববাদী উত্তর দিল, “প্রভু বলেছেন, ‘সরকারী রাজকর্মচারীদের তরুণ সহকারীদের আমি ব্যবহার করবো|”‘তখন রাজা জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “মূল সেনাবাহিনীর সেনাপতিত্ব কে করবে?”ভাববাদী উত্তর দিল, “আপনি|”
KJV : And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, [Even] by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.
YLT : And Ahab saith, `By whom?` and he saith, `Thus said Jehovah, By the young men of the heads of the provinces;` and he saith, `Who doth direct the battle?` and he saith, `Thou.`
RV : And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, By the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall begin the battle? And he answered, Thou.
RSV : And Ahab said, "By whom?" He said, "Thus says the LORD, By the servants of the governors of the districts." Then he said, "Who shall begin the battle?" He answered, "You."
ASV : And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith Jehovah, By the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall begin the battle? And he answered, Thou.
ESV : And Ahab said, "By whom?" He said, "Thus says the LORD, By the servants of the governors of the districts." Then he said, "Who shall begin the battle?" He answered, "You."
ERVEN : Ahab said, "Who will you use to defeat them?" The prophet answered, "The Lord says, 'The young men who carry the weapons for the government officials.'" Then the king asked, "Who should command the main army?" The prophet answered, "You will."

BNV : আহাব তখন সরকারী কর্মচারীদের তরুণ সহকারীদের জড়ো করলেন| সব মিলিয়ে এরা সংখ্যায় ছিল 232 জন| তারপর রাজা ইস্রায়েলের সেনাবাহিনীকে ডেকে পাঠালেন| সব মিলিয়ে সেখানে 7,000 জন ছিল|
KJV : Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, [even] all the children of Israel, [being] seven thousand.
YLT : And he inspecteth the young men of the heads of the provinces, and they are two hundred, two and thirty, and after them he hath inspecteth the whole of the people, all the sons of Israel, seven thousand,

ESV : Then he mustered the servants of the governors of the districts, and they were 232. And after them he mustered all the people of Israel, seven thousand.
ERVEN : So Ahab gathered the young helpers of the government officials. There were 232 of these young men. Then the king called together the army of Israel. The total number was 7000.

BNV : দুপুর বেলায় যখন বিন্হদদ ও অন্যান্য 32 জন রাজা দ্রাক্ষারস পান করে তাঁবুতে বেহুঁশ হয়ে পড়েছিলেন সে সময়ে রাজা আহাব আক্রমণ শুরু করলেন|

BNV : তরুণ সহকারীরাই প্রথম আক্রমণ করলো| রাজা বিন্হদদের লোকরা তাঁকে জানাল, শমরিয়া থেকে সেনারা যুদ্ধ করতে বেরিয়েছে|
KJV : And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben-hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, There are men come out of Samaria.
YLT : And the young men of the heads of the provinces go out at the first, and Ben-Hadad sendeth, and they declare to him, saying, `Men have come out of Samaria.`

BNV : বিন্হদদ বললেন, “হতে পারে ওরা যুদ্ধ করতে আসছে অথবা ওরা হয়তো শান্তি প্রস্তাব নিয়ে আসছে| ওদের জীবন্ত ধরে ফেলো|”
KJV : And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive.
YLT : And he saith, `If for peace they have come out -- catch them alive; and if for battle they have come out -- alive catch them.`

ERVEN : The survivors ran away to the city of Aphek. The wall of the city fell on 27,000 of those soldiers. Ben-Hadad also ran away to the city and hid in a room.

KJV : Now the men did diligently observe whether [any thing would come] from him, and did hastily catch [it:] and they said, Thy brother Ben-hadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Ben-hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

ASV : Now the men observed diligently, and hasted to catch whether it were his mind; and they said, Thy brother Ben-hadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Ben-hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
ESV : Now the men were watching for a sign, and they quickly took it up from him and said, "Yes, your brother Ben-hadad." Then he said, "Go and bring him." Then Ben-hadad came out to him, and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
ERVEN : Ben-Hadad's men wanted King Ahab to say something to show that he would not kill King Ben-Hadad. When Ahab called Ben-Hadad his brother, the advisors quickly said, "Yes! Ben-Hadad is your brother." Ahab said, "Bring him to me." So Ben- Hadad came to King Ahab. King Ahab asked him to get in the chariot with him.

BNV : বিন্হদদ তাঁকে বললেন, “আহাব, আমার পিতা তোমার পিতার কাছ থেকে য়ে সমস্ত শহর নিয়েছিলেন আমি সেই সমস্তই তোমাকে ফেরত্‌ দেব| আর তাছাড়া তুমি দম্মেশকে দোকান বসাতে পার য়েমন আমার পিতা শমরিয়ায বসিযে ছিলেন|”আহাব উত্তর দিলেন, “তুমি যদি এই প্রতিশ্রুতি দাও তাহলে আমি তোমাকে মুক্ত করে দিচ্ছি|” তারপর এই দুই রাজার মধ্যে শান্তি চুক্তি সাক্ষরিত হলে রাজা আহাব রাজা বিন্হদদকে মুক্তি দিলেন|
KJV : And [Ben-hadad] said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then [said Ahab,] I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.
